Lead Engineer - Combustion (GE Aviation)

Bangalore, India

As Lead Engineer - Combustion you will be responsible for aero-design of Gas Turbine combustor components to meet the overall combustion system requirements for commercial aircraft engines & aero-derivative engines and contribute to development of next-gen combustor concepts and state-of-the-art analysis methods.

Essential Responsibilities
· Aero-design of Gas Turbine combustor components to meet combustion system performance requirements like emissions, exit profile, durability etc for commercial aircraft engines and industrial aero-derivative engines.
· Work through the complete cycle of CFD analysis right from CAD geometry creation, mesh generation, solution and post-processing using appropriate tools.
· Perform CFD analyses that involve non-reactive as well as complex reactive flow, provide in-depth interpretation of CFD results, prepare design reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
· Proactively lead generation & maturation of novel ideas/concepts that push the technology envelope to enhance/maintain GE Aviation's combustor technology leadership.


Qualifications/Requirements
· Post graduate or doctorate in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering with excellent academic track record.
· 4 to 8 years of experience in aerospace industry with sound knowledge of Fluid Mechanics, multi-phase flows, Combustion and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), especially gained through course work/thesis.
· Inclination and flexibility to work on a wide variety of technology projects of interest to GE Aviation

Desired Characteristics
· 4+ years of experience in CFD modeling and meshing for complex geometries using ANSYS-Fluent suite of products.
· Prioir experience of Gas Turbine Combustor modeling & design.
· Exposure to experimental methods for fluid mechanics, combustion
