McLaren details the 4.0-liter V8 Senna

Ahead of it public debut at the Geneva International Motor Show next month, McLaren has released further information on the Senna. Fitted with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 – McLaren’s most powerful IC engine ever produced for a road car – the limited release hypercar will develop 800ps and 800Nm.

Ford Ranger returns to the USA with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine

Fitted with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine taken from the Focus RS, the 2019 Ford Ranger marks the OEM’s return to America’s mid-size truck segment. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, Ford promises torque comparable to a V6 and the efficiency of a four-cylinder.

Design Engineer (Pinnacle Engines)

We’re seeking a design engineer that will primarily focus on casting – HPDC/LPDC/sand casting – with preference for those having experience with crankcases and/or cylinder head designs for high volume production intent. The design engineer will use their understanding of current best practice design methods to conceive, design, and contract out the manufacture of engine components for a range of unique high efficiency engines. Design will be performed in Solid Works in such a manner that they can be manufactured worldwide
from the generated drawings.

Requirements
 
• BSME or applicable technical degree, advanced degrees preferred
• Basic understanding of engine function and fundamentals
• Minimum of 5 yrs experience with CAD design/drafting and liasing with vendor supply base for
associated components. Competency in tolerancing and GD&T expected
• Ability to take ownership of a component or assembly and design, draft, and manage vendors to take
part(s) from concept to functional components
• Capable of working with flexible design constraints
• Ability to communicate well and work proactively in a small, cross-functional team
