Engine Technology International wins at Headline Auto Awards

Engine Technology International has been voted the best Technical Publication/Website of the Year at the 2013 Headline Auto Journalism and PR Awards.
Chosen by a judging panel that included 26 industry figureheads and 24 automotive journalists and media executives, the all-new category highlights specialist publications or websites that don’t fall into either business or consumer categories, but deliver the most consistently high level of editorial, with accuracy and clarity, relevant to its specific audience.
ETi trumped fellow nominees such as Automotive Design, Racecar Engineer and Track Driver to take home the brand new award, while fellow UKIP Media & Events publication Vehicle Dynamics International finished second in the voting.
Lauded for its “great, high-concept covers” and “original and often beautiful use of illustration”, one judge said ETi “has the look of a consumer magazine while retaining a strong sense of authority essential for an engineering publication”, while another noted the publication had “some great left-field feature ideas, such as the one of biomimicry, and some witty subbing. [It’s] hard to believe it’s a magazine about engines”.
ETi Editor Dean Slavnich, who has headed up the title for the last seven years, said: “Being nominated for this award is a fantastic honor and affirms the direction we’ve taken with this title. B2B magazines should be both readable and attractively designed.”
